Materials You’ll Need:

  • Hardwood planks (walnut, oak, or maple)
  • Wood screws and nails
  • Wood glue
  • Sandpaper (medium and fine grit)
  • Wood stain or finish
  • Measuring tape and pencil
  • Saw and drill
  • Clamps

Step 1: Cutting the Wooden Pieces

Start by cutting the wood pieces according to the desired table dimensions. You'll need four legs, a tabletop, support beams, and wooden slats for the lower shelf.

Step 2: Assembling the Table Frame

Join the four legs using support beams on each side, creating a sturdy rectangular frame. Secure the joints using wood glue and screws.

Step 3: Attaching the Tabletop

Place the tabletop on top of the frame and align it properly. Attach it securely using wood glue and screws from underneath to ensure a smooth surface.

Step 4: Installing the Slatted Shelf

Attach evenly spaced wooden slats between the lower support beams to create a shelf. Ensure equal spacing between each slat for a clean and modern look.

Step 5: Sanding and Finishing

Sand the entire table using medium and fine-grit sandpaper for a smooth feel. Apply a wood stain or protective finish to enhance the wood’s natural beauty and durability.

Step 6: Final Assembly and Placement

Once the finish is dry, your stylish wooden side table is ready to use. Place it in your living space and enjoy your handmade piece of furniture.
